The Police in Kasungu District in the Central Region of Malawi, arrested two ladies who were found in possession of Indian Hemp also called Marijuana (Cannabis Sativa).

Miracle Mikozi a Spokesperson for Kasungu Police Station confirmed the incident.

The two culprits are Mrs Zyala Ntchalachala, aged 36 years and Georgina Nkhata aged 25. They were both found with 13 bags and 3 bags respectively.

Brief facts state that the two were coming from the direction of Mzimba to Lilongwe and after the well wishers informed the Police they rushed to a point where they mounted a roadblock at a place called Chisazima in the same District.

After searching the police indeed found 16 bags of the Cannabis packed in 50Kgs bags.

The suspects have been charged with an offense of "Found in Possession of Dangerous Drugs" and they will appear before the court of law soon.

They both came from Kaning'a Village, Traditional Authority Senior Chief Kaomba in Kasungu District in Malawi.
